Depending on their nationality, some foreigners need a visa to come to Peru for tourism, others don't need one. If you are attending the CITI Lima 2020, please check in advance if you will need a visa to enter Peru. The Colegio de Traductores del Perú or the Conference Organizing Committee will not be able to provide you with any assistance if you arrive in the country without proper documentation and are denied access by the authorities.
See the list of visa requirements for foreign citizens provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or contact the Peruvian consulate in your country of residence.
Local official currency is Sol but US dollars are widely accepted. Most important international credit cards are accepted but for small amounts only cash is recommended.
Electricity in Peru is 220 Volts at 60 Hertz. Most common plugs are the US flat type, though some hotels and venues use the 2 or 3 rounded prongs instead. Think of bringing a plug adapter for your devices.
